A Guide to Wedding Restroom Rentals
Updated: 4 days ago

More and more couples are moving away from traditional venues and leaning into outdoor settings such as lush secret gardens, desert vistas, historic barns, private estates, farms, and stunning mountain backdrops.
But many of these venues in Arizona have limited bathroom facilities. A working ranch has one bathroom in the house. A vineyard has two by the tasting room. Then 200 guests arrive and stay for six hours. Just imagine how that would go. Long lines. Dirty, clogged toilets. Everyone leaving early just to relieve themselves back at home. It sounds like a nightmare!
That's why a luxury restroom trailer for wedding celebrations has become a go-to choice for couples who want every detail, including the restrooms, to feel intentional rather than an afterthought.
So what are the benefits of a restroom trailer for an outdoor wedding? Are standard porta-potties a good option for your wedding venue? How many restrooms do you need for an outdoor wedding?
This guide answers everything you need to know about wedding restroom rentals.
Benefits of Bathroom Rentals for Weddings in Arizona
Enhanced Guest Experience
Planning an outdoor wedding in Arizona is no small feat, and one of the most overlooked yet crucial aspects is ensuring proper sanitation for your guests.
The Knot's 2026 Real Weddings Study found that the average wedding now hosts around 117 guests. Standard porta-potties (or even the luxury flushable ones) can’t accommodate this many people. By the end of the Cocktail hour, they are often unpleasant, messy, and the last thing your guests might want to use.
I mean, imagine it: forcing guests in full-length bridesmaid dresses, tailored suits, and formal wear to squeeze into a cramped, unlit box without running water. It will, without doubt, result in a miserable experience.
A luxury restroom trailer ensures every guest's needs are fully accommodated, with enough room to move without ruining an outfit. Even the smallest 2-station restroom trailer comes with a male/female division and can easily accommodate under 150 event guests. NO long lines. NO excessive wait times. NO overwhelmed septic tank.
A 5-station restroom trailer can accommodate under 500 guests at a 6-8-hour event.
Guests are always amazed by how nice they are, and most say they couldn't tell the difference from a regular bathroom.
Clean, Hygienic, and Odor-Free
In the middle of July, a standard porta-potty acts like a greenhouse in the sun. It traps heat and odors. Plus, the holding tank underneath that carries waste only makes things worse as the day goes on.
A luxury restroom trailer is clean, bright, and very functional, and is sealed more tightly to prevent water from leaking on the floor. It also has a built-in ventilation system that pulls stale air out and brings in fresh air.
Lastly, these luxury trailers are professionally serviced and cleaned before delivery, so you start your big day with a fresh, clean, and sterile bathroom.
At a well-run event, guests may not think much about the bathrooms, but they always notice when things go smoothly. Booking a bathroom rental for your wedding means you avoid last-minute problems, complaints, and awkward situations.
Privacy and Aesthetics, and Versatility
A luxury restroom trailer is also an upscale solution that fits right in among trees, open skies, and sunset views without looking out of place. It has spacious, private rooms with interior LED lighting, full-length vanity mirrors, wood-style flooring, gel-coated fiberglass walls, and stainless steel hardware.
And if your guest list includes someone who needs extra care and love, ADA-compliant luxury restroom trailers are also available. These trailers meet federal ADA standards, include an easy-to-deploy ramp, and are designed to be lowered during installation for easier access.
Why Not Just Rent Porta-Potties?
The biggest reason people consider renting a standard porta-potty is cost. They’re inexpensive and get the basic job done.
But that’s where the advantages usually end. Here is a side-by-side comparison to give you the quick answer to why more and more couples are now opting for a restroom trailer for outdoor weddings.
Luxury Restroom Trailer | Standard Porta-Potty | |
Interior Amenities | Flushing toilets, vanity mirrors, AC/heat, hot/cold running water. | Basic toilet seat, urinal, sanitizer dispenser (no running water). |
Comfort & Space | Spacious, private, home-style feel. | Cramped, utilitarian, minimal space. |
Hygiene | High (foot-pedal flushing mechanism, sink, professional cleaning). | Low (frequent odors, no handwashing station). |
Aesthetics | Elegant, blends well with formal decor. | Industrial, often requires screening/tenting to hide. |
Guest Capacity | High; better for long events with many guests. | Low; requires high unit count to prevent long lines. |
An Arizona summer makes the difference even sharper. A plastic unit in direct sun traps heat and odor all afternoon, and the holding tank underneath does not improve as the day goes on.
Restroom trailers offer a much more comfortable, hygienic, and professional experience. Instead of cramped plastic units, guests get features such as:
flushing porcelain toilets
running hot and cold water in real sinks
interior & exterior LED lights
full-length vanity mirrors
wood-style flooring
air conditioning, heating, and ventilation
Onboard freshwater tank
Self-leveling stairs with a platform railing
Fiberglass gel-coated walls and stainless steel hardware

For weddings, corporate events, private parties, and other occasions where guest experience matters, restroom trailers provide a level of cleanliness and comfort that standard porta-potties simply can’t match.
What Couples Are Already Saying About Luxury Restroom Trailers
These were the nicest restrooms! They have an elevated look and design. I loved the separation of the women’s and men’s sides. The exterior was sleek and simple. The bathroom itself was clean, modern, and didn’t feel cramped. Highly recommend for any event. __ Kristina Wiemann - Google Review
For the occasion of my Granddaughter's backyard wedding, we rented a portable, three stall/room lavatory. It was everything we hoped for. Unobtrusive, clean, nicely appointed inside each private room, well lit and fully functional. It was delivered and installed on time, one day prior to the event, and picked up as scheduled. Should an occasion arise again The Lavatory company will be our first call. Money well spent. __ MsGriz McElroy - Google Review
Wonderful experience with renting a bathroom trailer for my wedding. Drop off and pickup was easy and the trailers worked well and were very nice. Glad we rented a trailer rather than a porta potty. The guys dropping off were very helpful and kind! __ James Hamstra - Google Review
Okay, So How Many Restroom Trailers Do I Need For My Wedding?

The American Restroom Association recommends one restroom per 50 to 75 guests for a four-hour event. That is your floor, not your answer, because three things push it up fast:
How long is your wedding gonna last: The average person uses a restroom six to eight times over a full day. A ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing is not a four-hour event.
Will you be serving drinks/alcohol: The consumption of alcohol increases the portable bathrooms' use by 3x. With an open bar, the bathroom will get used even more. This is the single biggest factor couples or event planners underestimate.
What about meals and coffee: A seated dinner concentrates use into two short windows. So does the end of the night, when everyone goes before the drive home.
Cold weather increases bathroom use too, which matters more for a January wedding in Flagstaff than a May one in Scottsdale.
Our restroom trailers are sized by guest count and event length together, not just guest count alone.
Restroom Trailer | Guests | Event length | Stalls | Venues |
2-station | Up to 150 | Under 6 hours | Individual male and female locking stalls | Backyard or intimate venue, ceremony and dinner, no late-night bar |
5-station | Up to 500 | 6 to 8 hours | Individual male and female locking stalls | Full-day reception with a bar |
9-station | Up to 1,000 | Up to 12 hours | 4 male and 5 female latching stalls | Large celebration, multi-day event, or a venue with no facilities at all |
And How Much Does It Cost To Rent a Restroom Trailer?
In Arizona, wedding restroom trailer rentals usually run from $800 to $8,000, set by four factors:
season
trailer size
how remote the venue is
what utilities are already on site
For example, a short summer wedding with a 2-station trailer near town will be at the lower end of the price range. A week-long celebration for hundreds of guests in a remote area with no power or water source will be at the higher end.
Our quotes are all-inclusive, covering delivery, setup, paper goods, servicing, and removal. For a detailed breakdown of factors that affect the price, see our guide to restroom trailer rental costs.
How Far in Advance Should I Book?
Try to book about at least three months in advance, even if your guest count is still an estimate. In Arizona, spring and fall are the busiest times for weddings, and the 5-station unit is usually the first to get reserved for Saturdays in April or October. You can update your order as you receive RSVPs. But it’s nearly impossible to find a luxury restroom trailer just three weeks before a 300-person wedding during peak season. For a detailed breakdown, see our guide on how far in advance to book a restroom trailer.
What Your Venue Has To Provide
Before requesting a quote, confirm these three details with your venue coordinator:
Power within 75 feet: Our 2-station restroom trailer requires a standard 110V/20A outlet. The 9-station requires two separate 20A circuits.
Water within 75 feet: A standard 3/4-inch hose connection is typically sufficient. Our trailers also carry onboard freshwater tanks when needed.
Level ground and enough room for access: The 2-station requires approximately an 18 × 12-foot footprint, while the 9-station requires about 30 × 15 feet. The delivery truck also needs enough clearance to safely position and remove the restroom trailer.
No power or water available at your wedding venue? Just let us know when you request your quote. Remote and off-grid venues in Arizona are common for us. They simply require a different setup.
Frequently Asked Questions
What amenities should you look for in a luxury restroom trailer for a wedding day?
Look for flushable toilets, running hot and cold water in real sinks, climate control (air conditioning/heating and ventilation), vanities with mirrors, and a clean, upscale interior. These are the details that make a trailer feel just as nice, if not nicer, than a regular bathroom.
Can portable restrooms be customized to match my wedding theme?
Yes. You can decorate the trailer however you want. We won’t do it, but you can make changes or modifications to the unit itself.
Are restroom trailers suitable for both indoor and outdoor events?
Restroom trailers work well for both. They are especially useful for outdoor settings (like parks, farms, or vineyards) where plumbing is rarely available nearby. But they also complement indoor venues (like historical buildings or large tents) that often rely on septic systems that can't keep up with the number of guests.
What types of mobile restroom trailers do you offer for rental in Arizona?
We offer three main sizes from which you can choose as per your guest count and needs. A 2-station trailer works well for smaller events, up to about 150 guests. A 5-station trailer is ideal for medium-sized weddings with up to 500 guests. A 9-station restroom trailer handles up to 1,000 guests for events up to 12 hours. We also offer shower trailers for overnight events. All you need is a garden hose for water and a nearby power outlet. The trailer arrives clean and ready to use, with all paper products and supplies included. All you have to do is book our restroom trailer and tell us where to park it.
